Candra is also an associate fellow at Institute of Resource Governance and Social Change (IRGSC), a policy research institute and think tank comprising a new generation of researchers/scientists/ scholars, public intellectuals, and policy entrepreneurs based in Kupang.
Erda Rindrasih, Ph.D.
A researcher and lecturer in Tourism Study Program, the Graduate School, Universitas Gadjah Mada. She has graduated from the Department of Human Geography and Spatial Planning, Utrecht University the Netherlands, receiving a doctoral degree. In 2009, she obtained her Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Hawaii at Manoa USA. She has graduated from the Faculty of Geography, Universitas Gadjah Mada for her Bachelor Degree. Her specialty is the tourism development and planning, community development through tourism, small and medium enterprise, sustainable tourism and crisis management in tourism development. She is also a founder of Indonesia Tourism Watch (ITW).
Fadilah Putra, Ph.D.
A lecturer of public policy at Brawijaya University. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science and Government from University of Melbourne, Australia, and Master of Public Affairs from Austin Lyndon B Johnson School of Public Affairs, at University of Texas, USA. Fadil is a prolific scholar with dozens of publications in top academic journals. His recent work includes Analisis Kebijakan Publik Neo-Institusionalisme: Teori dan Praktik (Neo-institutionalism Public Policy Analysis: theory and practice). Dr. Faidah Azuz
A lecturer of Sociology at Bosowa University, Makassar, and vice dean of Agriculture Faculty at the same university. She holds a master and doctoral degrees of sociology both from Gadjah Mada University. She wrote extensively on agriculture sociology, cultural sociology, and rural sociology, especially on the role of women and traditional institutions in Maluku. As someone born and raised in Ambon, amid the Maluku conflict — a wound she found difficult to heal, Faidah is committed in promoting pluralism, to foster reciprocal respect and reduce prejudice among differing communities, both as an academic and activist.
Haryani Saptaningtyas, Ph.D.
Director of Percik, the Institute for Social Research, Democracy and Social Justice in Salatiga, Central Java, Indonesia. She holds an M.A. in Social and Cultural Anthropology from Vrije University Amsterdam, and a PhD in the Faculty of Philosophy, Theology and Religious Studies at Radboud University Nijmegen within the framework of the Alliance for Water, Health, and Development. One of her (co-authored) articles on the topic has been published in 2016, titled Religion and Environment, Pollution of Citarum River and Purification in Islamic Thought, and in a book titled “This is our belief around here”, pollution in Citarum river and Purification in Islamic Thought.
Mardhiany Sidayat, M.A.
A lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture, Khairun State University in North Maluku. She attended Master Program on Rural Livelihoods and Global Change at Institute of Social Studies, The Netherlands. Currently, she is the head of Agribusiness Department and actively participating in some professional based-organization such as Forum DAS Maluku Utara (North Maluku-watershed management forum), APIKI Indonesia (Indonesia Expert Association for Climate Change and Forest) and PT PRB INTIM (University forum for disaster risk reduction in Eastern Indonesia).
Melinda R.S. Moata, Ph.D.
Senior Lecturer at Agriculture Polytechnic in Kupang, West Nusa Tenggar. She holds a PhD in Agriculture and Natural Resource Management from University of Adelaide, Australia, and M.A. in Tropical Plant & Soil Science, from University of Hawaii, USA. Her research interests include circular economy model, dryland management system, land quality & capability, climate smart agriculture and three-year research program on develop climate smart agroecosystem in semi-arid region. She has been collaborating with partners from Univ. of Adelaide, ACIAR GEAReD, Netherland Universities, and Nuffic. In early 2020, she was selected among 21 ladies from 6 countries to be trained about Women Leadership in Agriculture from Meryl William Fellowship Program by ACIAR-GEAReD Australia.
Monika Aprianna Hartono, M.Psi.
Educational psychologist, early childhood education center manager and teacher. Founder of Rumah Pelangi Yogyakarta, an organization focusing on education and psychology. She holds bachelor (2004) and master (2010) degrees in psychology both from Faculty of Psychology, Gadjah Mada University (UGM). Write extensively for public readers on selective mutism, stimulus fading, extreme shyness, and proven educational interventions to improve communication skills among young children. In addition to being a researcher, she is often invited to be a counselor, resource person and trainer in training and seminars conducted by teacher and parents. In 2019, she was granted the national award for highly dedicated teachers by the Directorate General of Early Childhood Education and Community Education, Ministry of Education and Culture.
Nurul Ajib, M.A.
After graduating from Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Gadjah Mada University (2002), Nurul Ajib worked at Yayasan Komunitas (Food Security Consortium). She managed a Poverty Alleviation Program by strengthening MSMEs owned, funded by British Embassy. After completing her master degree in Cultural and Media Studies in the same university, she conducted an independent research on myths and their practices in society as material for her novel about coastal communities and the relation of Ratu Kidul myth and Islam. To pursue her passion in education, she adopts Charlotte Mason’s educational methods for her young children while working as a stock trader. Nurul believes that social change must start from childhood education and begin at home.
Rini Oktavia, Ph.D.
Senior lecturer and secretary of the Department of Mathematics at Universitas Syiah Kuala in Banda Aceh. She was raised in Banda Aceh and attended undergraduate and master programs in mathematics at Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). She also holds second master degree in Mathematics at The University of Texas at Austin (UTAustin), and Ph.D. in mathematics education from Texas State University in 2013. Rini is dedicated in promoting social justice issues in Indonesia and in the global world.
Rizal Najjara, M.S.Ed.
A regional manager for the education sector at the US Peace Corps. After earning a degree in English language teaching from the University of Mataram, he founded a community learning center in his hometown providing various after school programs for poor kids. In the Spring of 2009, he obtained his Master of Science in Education degree, majoring in Intercultural Communication, at the Graduate School of Education, the University of Pennsylvania. He was an English Department lecturer at the Sampoerna School of Education, Sampoerna University, Jakarta. He has published and presented academic papers, and book chapters on topics Teaching English as A Foreign Language and Critical Discourse Analysis.
Sujarwoto, Ph.D.
Lecturer at the Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Brawijaya University. He holds Master of Science in Public Administration of Gadjah Mada University, Master of Public Administration (MPA) at Manchester Business School University of Manchester UK, and Ph.D. from the Institute for Social Change (ISC), University of Manchester UK. Some of the academic awards including UNICEF Indonesia Child Poverty and Social Protection Fellowship 2013, Human Development and Capacity Association Fellowship 2012, and David Buckley SCHMi Manchester-Harvard University Fellowship 2011. Now, a researcher at Portsmouth Brawijaya Center for Global Health, Population and Policy, a study center dedicated to conducting research and community service in the fields of health, population and public policy in Indonesia and the UK.
Sulistyo Prabowo, Ph.D.
Lecturer at the Department of Agricultural Product Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Mulawarman University, East Kalimantan. He holds two master degrees from Postgraduate Department of Food Science and Technology, Gadjah Mada University Yogyakarta (2003) and School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine at Tulane University, New Orleans, United States. A prolific scholar with a Ph.D. from the Putra Malaysia University in 2016 who writes extensively on halal food assurance system. His concern for community social activities is pursued public service to MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) in the food sector, particularly in tackling the increasing use of hazardous materials in the food industry and long-term impact due to low understanding of nutrition and food safety.

An enthusiast and highly dedicated professional in inclusive education and rehabilitation program for people with visual impairment. Holds a Master degree in 2010 from College of Education, Ohio University, the USA. Afterward, Tolhas has been working as Pre-service University Consultant in Helen Keller International Indonesia, Program Officer for Private Sector Support and Disability in International Labour Organization (ILO) Jakarta Office, and Inclusive Education National Instructure in Ministry of Education and Culture. He is now an executive Director of Wahana Inklusif Indonesia. He also is actively invited as a speaker, moderator, and facilitator both in national and international events.
Tuti Alawiyah, MSSW, Ph.D.
Tuti graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with Master of Science and PhD in Social Work (2013). Her training has been in the integration between research and practice in the area of nonprofit sector and quality of social and human services both in Indonesia and the United States. Tuti has more than 10 years of experience conducting research in various fields including quality of service provisions, program evaluation, civil society and civic engagement, faith-based organizations, and philanthropic/charity organizations using both quantitative and qualitative approaches. She is also teaching Social Work Ethics and Social Work Research Methods with Social Welfare Department at the University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta.
Vima Tista Putriana, Ph.D.
Lecturer at Accounting Department, Faculty of Economy, Andalas University, Padang, West Sumatera. She holds MSc degree in International Accounting and Finance from the University of Birmingham (2008), UK, and PhD in Accounting and Finance from the same university (2016). Through the Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM) of Andalas University, Vima is actively promoting social-entrepreneurship to school drop-out young boys and girls by helping them to design and market agricultural-based products.
Zefirinus Kada, M.A.
Secretary of Larantuka Sub-district Head, East Flores District, West Nusa Tenggara. Beforehand, he was a civil servant at the District Office of Food Security and Agricultural Extension. Holds a master degree in Development and Rural Innovation, Wageningen University and Research Centre, the Netherlands. In addition to his bureaucratic career, he co-founded Yayasan Mitra Masyarakat Mandiri, an NGO working to promote education access for children in remote villages and introduce ecologically-friendly farming practices.
Dr. (cand.) Yubelince Runtuboi, M.Sc.
Lecturer at Forestry Faculty, Papua University, Manokwari, West Papua. Born and raised in the coastal area of Papua, which is rich in natural resource diversity, encouraged her to pursue her bachelor degree at the Faculty of Forestry, Papua State University, Manokwari, and master degree from Wageningen University, The Netherlands (2009). Now working on her doctoral degree in Forestry Science at the Universitas Gadjah Mada. Author of a dozen scholarly journal articles on sustainable development, conservation, natural resource management, and forest management.
Pdt. DR. Welfrid F. Ruku, M.Th., MA
Lecturer and Dean of Theology Faculty, Artha Wacana Christian University, Kupang, West Nusa Tenggara. Holds master theology (MTh.) from the Theology Faculty, Duta Wacana Christian University (UKDW), Jogjakarta (2003), M.A. in Contextual and Cross-cultural Theology from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (2008), and doctoral degree in Christian Theology from UKDW (2017. Active as a Bible translator into the Amarasi language, founder of two junior high school education units in the interior of Timor, attended several Bible translation workshops at home and abroad (Australia), and was a participant in the General Assembly of The Association for Theological Education in South East Asia (ATESEA) in Chiang-Mai, Thailand (2005).
Frans R. Siahaan, M.PPA
Frans R. Siahaan has been involved in promoting natural resources justice over 22 years with indigenoues people groups and civil society organizations (CSOs) in Indonesia. Frans, a graduate of Public Policy and Administration from University of Massachusetts and Geography from Gadjah Mada University, is currently working with the governments and CSOs in Papua, Aceh, West Kalimantan, and Mentawai to improve better environmental governance, including in promoting transparency and anti-corruption policy in forestry, oil palm and mining sector. Frans is also serving on the boards for five grassroots CSOs in Sumatra and Java island.
Nurman Siagian, M.A.
Early childhood expert. Currently working at KOMPAK (Governance for Growth), as an Education Manager, based in Jakarta. Previously, she worked in some humanitarian organizations operating in Wamena-Papua, Kupang-NTT, and Malawi-Africa. One of her key achievements was supporting the development of a National Guide for Contextual Character Education, a collaboration of Wahana Visi Indonesia with the Ministry of Education and Culture, which was used as a material package in the Character Education training at the Ministry of Education and Culture. Her main publication includes papers presented at the International ARNEC (Asia-Pacific Regional ECD) Conference in the Philippines (2014) and Cambodia (2017).
Endah Setyowati, M.Si., M.A
A lecturer in the humanities department of Duta Wacana Christian University (UKDW) since 1993. Completed her first master degree at Peace and Conflict Resolution Department of Gadjah Mada University, and second one at Coexistence and Conflict Department, the Heller School Social Policy and Management, Brandeis University, USA. Participated in the Summer Peacebuilding Institute (SPI) at the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding, Eastern Mennonite University (EMU), Virginia, USA. Member of research team for ethnic conflict in Indonesia-PSKP UGM and empowerment facilitator for peace at the community level. In 2017-2020, member of the module development team and facilitator of religious moderation, organized by the Ministry of Religion in cooperation with ICRS, and the British Council.
